Citizens for Free Speech Granted Injunction Against Alameda County as I-580 Billboards are Protected by Federal Court

Castro Valley, August 5, 2014 – On Tuesday August 5 Michael Shaw and Jeff Herson of Citizens for Free Speech (Citizens) obtained a court injunction against Alameda County’s objection to the construction of three 2-sided billboards along I-580 in Castro Valley, California.

The court ruled against the County and declared, “The Zoning Ordinance Gives Officials Too Much Discretion in Approving or Disapproving Signs Based on Their Content.”

Michael Shaw, co-founder of Citizens poses this question: “Is the Alameda County Board of Supervisors trying to hide ABAG, ICLEI, and One Bay Area from the citizens?”
